[Updated August 2026 ]

Ascertra has received these questions from Proarc on-premises customers regarding the recently issued Proarc release model, Ascertra’s policies for Proarc on-premises support End of Life, and migration to Proarc Online.

Questions regarding Proarc release model and on-premises support end of life (EOL)

1. When does support end for Proarc 7.4? Proarc 7.5?

Please refer to the Proarc 7.4 and earlier End of Life dates. Proarc 7.5 End of Life notice will be issued November 4, 2026. Proarc 7.5 End of Active Support is planned for November 4, 2027. Proarc 7.5 End of Life is planned for November 4, 2028.

2. Is Proarc 7.6 the final on-premises feature release?

Yes, after Proarc 7.6 on-premises customers will not receive major feature releases. Organisations operating Proarc 7.6 on premises will use a functionally static platform. During the 7.6 Active Support phase, Ascertra will deliver 7.6 hotfixes and limited maintenance releases that include:

  • Security patches and vulnerability fixes
  • Defect fixes against documented product behaviour
  • Regulatory and compliance updates where contractually required
  • Very limited access to new features and enhancements

The vast majority of new features, user-experience enhancements, integration extensions, and platform-level capability additions will not be included in 7.6 on-premises maintenance releases and will only be available in Proarc Online. A limited set of functional changes, primarily changes implemented in the core product, may be included in on-premises releases.

3. What is Extended Support?

Extended Support is a premium service offering from Ascertra. When versions of Proarc reach the end of Active Support, Ascertra’s Extended Support (ES) provides a time-limited safety net—ensuring continuity while you transition to a modern platform like Proarc Online.

What you get with Extended Support:

  • Access to experts for issue troubleshooting and resolution
  • Delivery of high-priority fixes where required to maintain stability
  • Access to documentation, knowledge base, and support channels
  • Advisory support to help you plan your transition forward
  • Operate your current system without immediate disruption

4. What is the difference between Active Support and Extended Support?

Extended Support is focused on stability—not evolution.

5. How does Ascertra plan to handle it if many of us don't want to convert?

Questions regarding Proarc application functionality cloud vs. on-premises

6. Will Proarc Online customers have the same full admin rights that are available with Proarc on-premises versions?

There are differences in access to administrative and configuration functionality between Proarc Online and the Proarc on-premises versions. In the Proarc Online environment, customers are not entitled to direct access to the database or application servers, for security and compliance reasons. For further details, request a copy of the document Differences in functionality in Proarc versions from the Ascertra support team, which provides a detailed functional comparison of the latest Proarc on-premises version and Proarc Online.

7. Are there any plans to make ProAdmin functions available for Proarc Online customers?

Ascertra has delivered many administrative functions in the Proarc Online web client and plans further administrative features in the Proarc Online roadmap. We recognise that some advanced administration and configuration functions remain available only in the ProAdmin legacy web client application and are inaccessible to Proarc Online users.

Ascertra’s focus remains on developing modern innovative solutions for administration and configuration in Proarc Online, not on achieving feature parity with all legacy ProAdmin application functions.

In situations where a customer is migrating to Online, and in recognition of the extended timeline for Proarc Online roadmap delivery of modern administrative functions, Ascertra will evaluate, on a case-by-case basis, access to a limited, secured ProAdmin client application in the Proarc Online service.

8. Is it possible to configure document profile layout and initialisation rules?

Yes. Today, these configurations are implemented on request in Proarc Online by the Ascertra Services professionals.

Ascertra is currently designing and developing a modern user experience that supports configurable document and search layouts. Availability dates to be announced.

9. Is it possible to create and maintain shared result lists in Proarc Online?

Yes. Proarc Online offers the shared list functionality.

10. Is it possible to customise document templates and merge scripts in Proarc Online?

11.  Is there functionality in Proarc Online to co-author in the production of a document and also in a workflow if you do not use ProView?

19. Will the cost increase with Proarc Online due to more support from Ascertra? Is there a separate pricing model for Proarc on-premises customers? What is not included?
