Ascertra Acquires Contract Risk Management & Operational Safety Management Solutions

Acquisition expands Ascertra's support for organizations that design, build, and operate major capital projects and assets.

November 3, 2026: Ascertra, a business unit of Constellation Software, has acquired Contract Risk Management (CRM) and Operational Safety Management (OSM) solutions. The transaction was completed on November 2, 2026.

Expanding Ascertra's Support Across the Project and Asset Lifecycle

Owners, operators, and EPC contractors in capital-intensive industries manage large amounts of critical information and many processes across the project and asset lifecycle. When those processes run in disconnected tools or through manual workarounds, it becomes harder to keep information trusted, accountable, and available to the people who need it.

The addition of Contract Risk Management and Operational Safety Management expands Ascertra’s ability to support the critical processes organizations rely on to safely and effectively deliver and operate major capital assets.

Contract Risk Management extends Ascertra's capabilities in contract change control, financial control, claims management, and obligation tracking, helping customers that improve control, visibility, and coordination across project parties while reducing cost overruns, claims, and disputes.

Operational Safety Management strengthens Ascertra’s operations offering by supporting operational safety and Control of Work processes. It helps organizations manage activities such as permits to work, isolations, and other safety-critical workflows, providing greater visibility and control over work being performed across operational environments.

Together, these solutions broaden the value Ascertra can provide across the project and asset lifecycle. For customers, that means:

  • Support for more critical processes: Access to purpose-built solutions spanning project delivery and ongoing asset operations.

  • Greater operational control: Solutions designed to help organizations manage information, workflows, and safety-critical activities with greater consistency and visibility.
  • Continuity across the lifecycle: More opportunities to maintain the flow of trusted information as assets move from projects into operations.
  • Specialized industry expertise: Solutions developed for the requirements of organizations delivering and operating complex, capital-intensive assets.
  • Long-term investment: A commitment to continuing to develop Contract Risk Management and Operational Safety Management while building on the expertise and customer relationships already established around the solutions.
  • Broader value from Ascertra: Customers can draw on complementary capabilities across the Ascertra portfolio as their requirements evolve.

This acquisition supports Ascertra’s broader strategy to provide customers with trusted, purpose-built solutions that support more of the processes and information they depend on throughout the project and asset lifecycle.

As part of the acquisition, key CRM and OSM team members are joining Ascertra, bringing established product knowledge, industry expertise, and customer relationships with them. This continuity strengthens Ascertra’s ability to support customers today while retaining the expertise needed to invest in and evolve the solutions over the long term.

A Message from Matt McKinley, CEO, Ascertra

"Our strategy is focused on delivering greater value to customers by supporting more of the processes they rely on throughout the project and asset lifecycle,” said Matt McKinley, CEO of Ascertra. “Contract Risk Management and Operational Safety Management strengthen that capability and bring valuable expertise, technology, and customer relationships into Ascertra. We’re excited to welcome these customers and our new colleagues, invest in the continued development of both solutions, and explore how we can deliver even greater value through the broader Ascertra portfolio.”
